Rocky Research, an analytical and engineering service provider to the HVAC&R industry, announces its new service of heat transfer fluid and hardware analysis for refrigeration and air conditioning systems using low side brine heat transfer loops. The lack of service provided to secondary heat transfer fluid systems often leads to non-optimal fluid concentrations, scale buildup in heat exchangers, corrosion of components, and corrosion inhibitor balances. These conditions not only lead to costly repairs, but also result in excess energy use during system operation.
Rocky Research has developed a three phase process designed to maximize cost effectiveness. The first phase is the evaluation of a process information questionnaire assessing the energy savings and demand reduction potential. If warranted, the second phase of the process will be conducted including a heat transfer fluid analysis for scale promoters, corrosion products, inhibitor levels, concentration and degradation. Depending on the results of this analysis, specific fluidware and hardware modification and/or repairs will be specified.
